Really beautifully made (this piece reminds me very much of the work of Anderson Design Studio in Maine) with a resist technique used for the surface decoration I believe

Green and Red Painted Wonderful Old Wooden Toy Row Boat tall Zanesville vase dark blue lining with pocketI'd guess that this wonderful old wooden toy row boat has seen some pools and ponds; perhaps the oars, which I'd guess were one affixed to the sides, were lost at sea! I love it now for all of its scuffs and wear, which I think only enhance the gorgeous green and red paint of the exterior, and creamy white inside the boat. Just a marvelous tabletop or windowsill object, which at least for me feels quite romantic and inspires a longing for adventure. 8
