Constructed of silvered and gilded bronze with enamels, consisting of an eight pointed radiant star, the obverse overlaid by a white enameled Cross Patte, with a central oval medallion bearing a raised Heer soldier, within a gilded and pebbled ring, with crossed swords through the centre, the reverse with a block hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, marked DEUTSCHES
