Manufactured c. 1865 by Bacqueville, Paris, as a display award, consisting of a bullion star with rays consisting of alternating rays of carefully attached sequins that are bordered by twisted silver bullion wire, and broad flattened aluminum bullion strands, also bordered by twisted silver bullion wire to give definition.
