Germany, Imperial. A 1918 Wound Badge, Silver Grade, In Silver Archive the obverse displaying a crowned(Verwundeten Abzeichen). Instituted by Emperor Wilhelm II on 3 March 1918. A top quality badge featuring an ovular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears a helmet superimposed on two upwards facing crossed swords on a pebbled background, encompassed by a laurel wreath border tied with a ribbon at the bottom, the reverse is plain and bears a vertical pinback with flat wire catch, marked 800 on the pinback arm, measuring 38. 57 mm (w) x 43. 30
