The berretino and poleyn Product:Canvas sultans or cossacksThe berretino and poleyn, 15th century, (1910). Examples of male costume, showing the method of carrying the berretino with its hanging becca. The poleyns (a type of shoe), were stiffened and padded to prevent them folding over during walking.
