Constructed of polished silvered bronze, the obverse bearing an etched dedication of OBERSTLEUTNANT NABAKOWSKI, above inscriptions of FR HERVORRAGENDE LEISTUNG IM KRIEGSJAHR 1942 (FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN THE WAR YEAR 1942) and DER KOMMANDIERENDE GENERAL UND BEFEHLSHABER IM LUFTGAU XI (THE GENERAL AND SUPREME COMMANDER OF AIR DISTRICT XI), topped by a raised Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with
