Constructed of gilded magnetic iron, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, surrounding a black enameled void overlaid by a Tyr rune, in turn bearing a defaced by a mobile swastika situated within a circular ring bearing an inscription of FR LEISTUNGEN IN DER H. J. (FOR MERIT IN THE H. J.), the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and
