A Fine First War 1917/18 Pour-Le-Merite By Wagner Archive 1916 - OctAn excellent example of a highly desirable award; in silver gilt and enamels measuring 53. 2mm (h) x 53. 4mm (w) and weighing 16. 7grams; marked 938 silver and W for Wagner; a fine wartime produced cross of very good quality manufacture, with length of correct but modern ribbon (22cm in length); exhibiting period damage and subsequent repair typical of period wear; overall this cross displays pleasing toning and wear and remains in extremely fine
