France, Republic. An Order of the Academic Palms, Commander Province of China topped by the royal crown(Ordre des Palmes Acadmiques). Instituted in 1955. In silver gilt and purple enamels, reverse mirrors the obverse, surmounted by a wreath, measures 49. 8 mm (w) x 95. 2 mm (h), worn on full length purple neck ribbon, minor enamel wear and areas of gilt loss, remains very fine.
