A First War period German brooch constructed from a gilded piece of an artillery shell driving band, featuring an enamelled shield presenting the patriotic tricolours, with the date 1914 to the left and 1916 to the right, the reverse presents a horizontal pinback, measures 35 mm (w) x 10 mm (h), and in overall near extremely fine condition.
