The dark black fruit has a superb flavor that is sweeter and less resinous then the red fruit. Our Black Surinam Cherry trees are about 3 to 4 feet tall, grafted, and ready to fruit! Ripe Surinam cherries are soft to the touch with a thin skin, they are tart and acidic. The fruit is best when totally ripe, dark in color, and soft to the touch.
