The surface on this one is what makes it really excellent to me—counterpointing its cuteness in just the right way and to my eye making this kitty seem quite a soulful one

Nice Old Blacksmith Made Hand-forged Iron Folk Art Snake with Incised Details Walter Baker & Co chocolate cup 3 9/16" x 2 13/16"A satisfying old hand forged iron snake, with especially nice looping and curling to the body (good from every angle) and a great shape to the head, mouth open and incised detailing along the flat top of it. Found in Maine, with good age to it for sure, some old rusting around that incising. These continue to be made (mostly of rebar now) and vary a great deal in quality and character; I think this is really a nice one, maybe early 20th century or so.
