It is an Inuit carving and I know for certain dates at latest to the 1950s

Just a sweet little brush with a great patina

Max Ulrich "Uli" Schoop Terracotta Bust of Young Woman hand-painted wooden plate Where I live there areMax Ulrich (Uli) Schoop (1903 1990) was a German born sculptor, painter, printmaker, who lived and worked in Paris (1928 1940) then Zurich, Switzerland, where he was a professor of art at the University of Zurich from 1953 1973. This wonderful small bust is signed but undated, but based on other works I believe likely dates to the 1940s. Finely sculpted and beautiful from every view, I find her quite a thoughtful, curious and gentle seeming presence!
