It was executed in what appears primarily to be graphite

but also how this is contrasted by the manner in which her hands grip the sides of pedestal upon which she sits

with some scratching and staining to the slate

He looks like a Viking to me, or at least some sort of Medieval warrior, pretty crudely carved and painted gold, with a blue painted ground, as if emerging from a long journey at sea! He's definitely got some age, as there is a fair amount of wear to the gold paint, which adds to the feeling that he's seen some battle! 6 5 8" x 3 1 2" x 3 8". There are two holes midway down either side
