SOLD Balletic Balancing Mermaid, c. 1920s RPPC pattern study though I have not found

though I have not found another in this blue and peachy yellow glaze combo

the legs will alternately swing forward causing the toy to walk

as there is that sort of sandpaper texture to the drawing/painting

With plenty of wear and some surface rusting

I love the absurdity of this one, and also feel highly empathetic toward the young woman, imagining her squeezing into this mermaid skirt and struggling to smile while holding her pose. Hand tinted I believe, lending a golden glow to her top half, and a bluish one to her fins! 5 7 16" X 3 5 16" and in very good condition.
