19th Century Folk Art Reverse Glass Tinsel Painting of Flower Bouquet in Great Original Frame pottery food It's the forlorn looking dogA sweet and lovely old folk art reverse glass tinsel painting, c. 1870s or so I believe, found in upstate NY near Albany, forever enclosed in its original, painted frame, wood back nailed on. With metallic foil backing the glass (in this case all silver), these were made to be viewed by by candlelight, such that the foil would shimmer and lend the painting a three dimensional effect.
