with this lovely pale yellow for the shirt and soft red for the tips of the feathers

though as noted the curve of the sides is quite irregular—original to the piece

It's also nice that it can sit up on its tail

Both I know were found in the Sartre region, and both done on watermarked laid paper, which date them to about 1810. I love a good hand, whether drawn or carved or otherwise, and this finely rendered one seems as if perpetually reaching forward.
