Binney's left arm rests on a desk blotter and he holds a pen in his right hand. There is a small footstool in the background. Inscribed below the image: 'MAULL & Co. LONDON'. The reverse is variously inscribed: printed 'MAULL & Co. Photographers, 55, GRACECHURCH STREET, 187a, PICCADILLY, and TAVISTOCK HOUSE, FULHAM ROAD.
