Young Girl in Gold, Hand-tinted 19th C. Sixth Plate Ambrotype with Gilding wooden construction set and a little light brownA charmer of an ambrotype and subject! I think, especially special for being hand colored, not just the yellow tint of her dress and pink of her cheeks, but also hand drawn black lines detailing her dress and a gilded flourish at her neck. I love her face, and her hands, and especially the play between her legs and boot tops and the seat and legs of the chair. 3 5 16" x 2 13 16". Overall good condition, with one black mark coming down from upper left
