I believe this very charming antique hand-colored lithograph dates to the 1840s or so

and then one in either arm

C. 1850s Sixth Plate Daguerreotype of Two Sisters in Matching Dresses beveled glass mirror " Of much greater interestIts the striking graphicness of the checkered prints on the dresses of these two that really sold me, but their very stern faces most definitely make it all the better. I also like thatclearly instructed to fold their handsthey did so in different ways, the one on the right hiding her thumb. And, with their upper arms pressed right up against each other, it almost feels as if theyre joined like Siamese things which would explain their unhappy looks!
