Beautiful Antique Piecework Ball in Best Soft Palette Ives and Company in art history classesI find these old homemade cloth balls just the loveliest things. Usually, one finds them sewn together of pieces of oil cloth, most often in two alternating colors. But here, the cloth is more like linen, and the color more as if hand dyed, soft and radiant. And a most as beautiful a combination of three shades as could be. Perhaps the yellow, with shows a bit of a different texture, once had an oil cloth sort of surface that long ago wore away;
