I believe the wood is walnut and it is jointed by tiny nails, running in neat rows down the center of the shelf then down the center and horizontal of the back. 4 3 8 t x 5 13 16 w x 2 7 8 d. There are a few old creamy white paint spatters on the top and edge of the shelf; otherwise very good antique condition, sturdy and
