Live and DIe for those We Love, Poignant and Scarce Mid 19th Century Engraved Sentiment Card unusual handwriting Pure joy to find theseI believe this small card, which I would call a "sentiment card" of sorts (different that a calling card, that would bear the caller's name) is early Civil War era, especially as I take that for an eagle protecting her nest. I can't find another like it anywhere out there, but I did find a 1861 pro Union print, published by E. B. and E. C. Kellogg, titled The Eagles Nest, which I've included in photos and which, like this, has a definite ferocity to
