Very Old Small Painted Clay Spiral or Snake Lid 1930s wood block Other than the missing handleI do not know whence this came, but it appears to me that it is quite old, i. e. very old. It's a small thing, which looks as if likely once a lid to a small vessel, but now would make a wonderful little paper weight. It looks to me like a snake curled into a spiral, with mouth open at the top. Sculpted of black clay, with the snake painted in black against gold and red. 2" d x 7 8" t. A few chips around the bottom edge and a couple of hairline
