In 1650, the heiress of the estate, Antoinette de Guillemotes, married Etienne Lafon, Advisor to the Parliament of Bordeaux. He received the vineyard as a dowry, which then becomes the Lafon Rochet estate. The Lafon family ran Chateau Lafon Rochet for over two centuries, even during the French Revolution, and enabled the estate to access the rank of 4th Grand Cru in 1855. After the
