Great patina--scuffs
but this couple struck me as especially striking
Pulling or pushing the slide lever to which this wood chopper's feet are attached causes him to either lift or lower his axe--pretty fun
I'm a softie for especially carefully painted pieces like this cigarette box
Fences (Agriculture), Striking and Poignant c. 1820 Engraving, Abraham Rees, London jan stavast toy Great patina--scuffsThis engraving of twelve different examples of agricultural fences came from The Cyclopaedia or Universal Dictionary of Arts, Sciences & Literature published by Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme & Brown, London, in 1820. I just think they're completely beautiful things, each and every one, and all the more together. And what a whole lot of history and resonance rolled up into a fence. Excellent. 10 5 8" x 8 1 2" and in very good antique condition. Blank
