A very ornamental palm with a rounded crown of large fan shaped stiff leaves. When young the leaves, petioles, leaf margins and veins are all tinged with a reddish colour. As they mature the leaves do lose this colour and turn to green, although it can take up to 15 years. The leaf stems and leaf margins do however retain the colour. The Red Latan Palm
