Description
Any breakfast-time would be just a little brighter with it on the table
I also like the interplay between the form of the vase and the glaze on top of it
The magazine was best known for the hand-tinted fashion plate that appeared at the start of each issue
The piece measures 8 1/2" in diameter
Large Mid-Century Matte Black Italian Ceramic Planter storage container Any breakfast-time would be justThis planter has about the most beautiful form I can imagine, with wide bowl rising gracefully from cylindrical body, making for a truly stunning silhouette. Glazed matte black, it bears a strong resemblance to Californian Architectural Pottery pieces from the 1950s and 1960s, and also a fair resemblance to some pieces designed by Ettore Sottsass for Bitossi, but I have not found its exact match. It is signed 683 Italy in yellow orange on the bottom.
