The 2001 isn't quite as structured as the 1999
(from a 1 ha parcel of 50+ year old vines that see 40% new wood)
with velvety-textured blackberry
This is potentially a monument in the making if it can continue to add depth as it ages and the potential to do so certainly appears to be present
Bouchard Pere et Fils, Corton Charlemagne Blanc Vintage:2020 The 2001 isn't quite as(from a huge 3. 65 ha plot in Le Corton). A restrained and cool nose combines notes of green apple and pear with those of lemon rind and white flower that, once again, are set off by a discreet note of wood nuances. As one would reasonably expect, the mouthfeel of the medium weight flavors that possess a lovely texture on the lightly mineral inflected, focused finish that displays noticeable warmth and a touch of sweetness.
