To me, it has a bit of a WPA feeling about it, and this lovely, rosy cheeked young woman seems to me quietly heroic, looking as if perhaps a few months pregnant and mending (I assume) what looks more like a sheet or blanket than a shirt, and so feels somehow more hopeful and future oriented than a mundane daily chore.
