The Suir Island Quaker School (SI) was a boarding and finishing school for girls established in 1787 in Clonmel in County Tipperary by prosperous Quaker missionaries and philanthropists Robert and Sarah Tuke Grubb

It has been inspired by the whitework samplers - sometimes called reticella samplers - which reached their peak of popularity during the reign of the English sovereign Charles 1 (1625 - 1649)
